Liu Baojun 劉保軍 is a modern Chinese painter whose work encountered in the Shanghai ‘SOHO’ of New York lore, the Moganshan District. The Moganshan District is set off from droll tiers of concrete apartment skyscrapers by the low scroll of a 6 foot graffiti wall. The District itself is a maze of warehouse galleries, nooked with tiny workspaces for the artists who display there. Liu Baojun’s work was a clear standout from the din, both in subject matter and technique. Antoine Auguste Ernest Hébert (1817-1908) was a French painter and academic. He was born in Grenoble and died in La Tronche. His painting Mal'aria was exhibited in the Salon of 1850-1851, and now hangs in the Musée d'Orsay, Paris. Painted in a Romantic style, it depicts a family of Italian peasants escaping an epidemic by raft, a scene inspired by events Hébert had witnessed while in Italy.His student Paul Trouillebert was an important artist of the Barbizon School. The artist's house is preserved in the Musée Hébert in the VIe arrondissement of Paris. There is another museum near Grenoble.

Diego Rivera (Diego María de la Concepción Juan Nepomuceno Estanislao de la Rivera y Barrientos Acosta y Rodríguez) (1887-1957) figlio di un maestro di scuola, fin da piccolo fu considerato un bambino prodigio. Adolescente si dedica agli studi artistici sentendosi attratto dall'arte tradizionale pre-colombiana, all'età di ventuno con una borsa di studi triennale si reca in Spagna, Italia, Belgio Olanda, Inghilterra, quando si trova in Francia si accosta al cubismo, ai fauve, al futurismo per poi tornare in patria dove, legato da comuni ideali sociali ma da differenti espressioni artistiche, a Siqueiros e Orozco, darà vita a quella che sarà considerata la più grande espressione muralista dell' epoca, affrescando chilometri e chilometri di pareti.
