Giovanni PARLATO, 1957 ✿

Giovanni Parlato is an Italian painter born in 1957 in Vico Equense on the Sorrento Peninsula. He studies at the Sorrento Art Institute and perfects himself at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples. His art distances itself from the artistic avant-garde linked to the sphere of abstractionism.


He devoted himself to figurative painting and with his unmistakable signature he made his debut in 1978 at the "International Art Gallery" of Vico Equense, obtaining a ten-year contract that will allow him to make his painting known in his own land. The various personal exhibitions in the neighboring areas were followed in 1996 by the journey that marked the turning point in his way of making art. The artist goes to Beirut to paint the portrait of the Maronite patriarch and the Lebanese ambassador in Rome.
During these years his portraits and his figures inserted in everyday life environments become the protagonists of exhibitions of wider resonance at renowned art galleries, such as "Arte e Arte Gallery" in Torre Annunziata (1996), "La Scintilla" of Vico Equense (1996) and the "Centro d'Arte Engema" of Pagani (SA) in 1996. From 1997 to 1999 he took part in the "Expo Arte" in Bari.
At the same time, in 1998, he moved to Barcelona where he exhibited with a personal “Sales d'exposicions casino”. In 2000 he was one of the protagonists of the "Art Exhibition" in Padua. In 2001 he returned to Barcelona, ​​finding great success among collectors, so much so that he was re-proposed in 2005 with an exhibition at the “Galeria de arte frvela” in Madrid. In 2007 the artist became the protagonist of a personal exhibition at the “Graziart” cultural center in Bitonto.
