Michael DE BONO ✿

Michael De Bono is a British realist painter living in the U.K. He was born in the Welsh valley, Caerphilly in 1983. His work draws inspiration from the Italian High Renaissance and the Caravaggisti.

Determined to produce beautifully rendered oil paintings with a specific emphasis on light effects, Michael's interest in the elegance of the natural world finds expression within his figurative subjects, the intimacy of which invites us to reflect freely upon their narrative context.
Following his first public exhibitions at the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Show in 2008 and 2009, Michael has since exhibited with the RP, RBA, ROI, RWA and the NEAC during 2010 and 2011, culminating in two Solo Shows totaling 60 paintings in the Summer of 2012 and 2015 at Fosse Gallery.

De Bono was awarded two prizes by the Llyn Painter Stainers Committee of Judges for his work 'Natural Philosophy'. He is the first recipient of a dual award in the organization's history.  In 2013 Michael was presented at the Mall galleries with the RBA Arts Trust Award.
