Giovanni PARLATO ✿ part.2

Giovanni Parlato is a italian painter, was born in Vico Equense in the Sorrento Peninsula in 1957. He studied at the Art Institute of Sorrento and perfected himself at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples.
His art distances himself from the artistic avant-gardes linked to the sphere of abstractionism. He devoted himself to figurative painting and with his unmistakable signature he made his debut in 1978 at the "International Art Gallery" of Vico Equense, obtaining a ten-year contract that would allow him to make his painting known in his own land.

The various personal exhibitions in the surrounding areas were followed in 1996 by the journey that marked the turning point in his way of making art. The artist travels to Beirut to paint the portrait of the Maronite patriarch and the Lebanese ambassador to Roma

During these years his portraits and his figures inserted in environments of daily life become the protagonists of exhibitions of wider resonance at renowned art galleries, such as "Arte e Arte Gallery" in Torre Annunziata (1996), "La Scintilla" di Vico Equense (1996) and the "Centro d'Arte Engema" of Pagani (SA) in 1996. From 1997 to 1999 he participated in the "Expo Arte" of Bari.

At the same time, in 1998, he moved to Cadaquès (Barcelona) where he exhibited with a personal "Sales d'exposicions casino". In 2000 he was one of the protagonists of the "Art Market Exhibition" in Padua. In 2001 he returned to Cadaquès, finding much success among collectors, so much so that he was re-proposed in 2005 with an exhibition at the "Galeria de arte frvela" in Madrid. In 2007 the artist became the protagonist of a solo show at the Bitonto “Graziart” cultural center. Giovanni Parlato currently lives in Vico Equense, where he works tirelessly to rediscover himself and his art.
