Silvio PORZIONATO ✿

Silvio Porzionato is a italian figurative painter who prefers to work on large scale canvases in oil and acrylic. His paintings are personal reflections on men and women, and inevitably, the flow of time. He often bases his portraits on photographs of himself and his friends. Reminiscent in turns of the portraiture painter Chuck Close, Silvio’s photorealistic portraits are expressive in colorful and black-and-white palettes. Silvio started exhibiting in 2007 when he was selected for the Premio Arte Mondadori by one of Europe’s largest editorial groups, Arte Mondadori. In addition to numerous solo and group exhibitions, he has won the Critics Award at Art Saluzzo, Leonardo Award (2010), and was selected for the 54th Venice Biennale (2011) for the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy. (Major initiatives were programmed by the Institute of Culture and promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs aimed at promoting Italian cultural heritage at Sala Nervi, Turn, Italy.)
